Well hello! I’m Fern, and I love making fish.

I’m an interdisciplinary artist and lover of all things riparian and aquatic. I started experimenting with ceramics and wheel throwing as a teenager in rural Iowa and deepened my relationship with clay while studying Art Therapy in Colorado.

Now based in Portland, I’ve been lovingly making these fish by hand for over four years as my silly antidote to the heaviness of the modern world.

When I’m not in the studio, you can find me lingering at my kitchen table with a hot cup of black coffee, cooking meals for friends and family, gardening, painting, or taking long walks along the Oregon Coast.

Thanks for stopping by my odd little corner of the internet.

“Do unto those downstream as you would have those upstream do unto you.”
